1. In a Tweet (140 Characters or less) please tell us about Halligan To My Axe.
Kettle is a fireman for the Benton Fire Department. He’s responding to a fire one night when he meets a woman, Adeline is a high school chemistry teacher. She lives in the same apartment complex as Kettle, although she doesn’t know it. Kettle’s pretty sketchy about relationships. He tried once and got burned, so it’s tough for him to put himself out there again. However, he takes a leap of faith, and he doesn’t regret it one tiny bit.
2. Where did the idea for the story-line come from?
My husband’s a paramedic. I’ve become really interested in the EMS field, and find it extremely exciting to write and learn about. Kettle’s story came from a discussion I was having with my husband about firefighters.
3. What do you think readers will like/love about Adeline?
She’s real. She says what she thinks. She’s not afraid to tell Kettle when he’s being a shit, and she loves him like he needs to be loved.
4. Who are some of your book boyfriends? What draws you to them?
Dane Hollister- Dream Man by Linda Howard.
Tack- Motorcycle Man- Kristen Ashley
I’m a sucker for an a-hole. I guess I’m old fashioned like that, though. I like when a man is the man, and a woman is a woman. Although, I don’t want him to run all over her, either. There’s a line, and I feel that these two book boyfriends toe it expertly.
5. What’s next for you?
I’m currently working on the fifth book in The Heroes of The Dixie Wardens MC series.
